Brand Works a journey of growth
The story of Brand Works begins in 2017, when a group of colleagues, including Shaun, Carl, Reece, William, and Laura,were working together at a local signage company. After the company’s unfortunate closure, the team decided to embark on their own entrepreneurial ventures. Shaun and Carl, both experienced in the signage industry, established their own installation companies. Shaun focused on project management, overseeing installations across the country, while Carl took a more hands-on approach, working as a self-employed installer with Reece, as his assistant. Meanwhile, William also ventured into self-employment,offering his services to Shaun and Carl, while Laura found work at another signage company.
In 2018, Shaun continued to operate from his home office, while Carl rented a unit in Leeds to store their graphics and equipment. Recognizing the potential benefits of joining forces, Shaun and Carl decided to merge their businesses in 2019. By combining their client bases, they were able to offer a wider range of services and secure larger projects with major UK companies, including ASDA, M&S, and Curry’s.
To meet the growing demand for their services, the team expanded their operations in 2020 by renting additional storage space. The following year, they invested in new printing equipment, enabling them to produce their own graphics and reduce their reliance on external suppliers. This decision proved to be a strategic one, as they attracted more work from signage companies seeking outsourcing solutions.
In 2023, Laura rejoined the team, bringing her expertise in branding, marketing and signage. Under her guidance, Brand Works began to focus on its growth strategy, including the development of a new website, social media presence, and a clear plan for expansion.
The culmination of this journey came in 2024 when Brand Works was officially formed. The company, specializing in signage, print, and vehicle graphics, moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility and expanded its team to include Gary, a business development manager and former colleague to Shaun and Carl way back in 2012 and Naomi, an accountant.
